Missing Person alert--
Update January 15, 2025
The body of Mr. Estridge was discovered just before 5:00 p. m. Tuesday, January 14, 2025.
A resident of the area on his way home from work noticed the body in an elevated wooded area just off Cannery Road in the Buford Community. Personnel of the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office, Lancaster County Emergency Management, and Spartanburg County Search and Rescue along with search K-9s had been out all day searching for Mr. Estridge and were in the area when the discovery was made. They responded to the scene and secured it to await the arrival of crime scene investigators and the coroner. The scene was processed, and an autopsy is scheduled. The body was located a short distance from Mr. Estridge’s home, where he was last seen. At this time there is no indication of foul play, but the cause and manner of the death are pending the autopsy results and continuing investigation by the coroner’s office and the sheriff’s office.

“We are disappointed in the outcome of this search,” said Sheriff Barry Faile. “Our thoughts and prayers are with Mr. Estridge’s family and friends. Although this didn’t end like we all hoped it would, at least the family will not have to live with the uncertainty of where Mr. Estridge is. The sheriff’s office appreciates the help we received from all agencies who participated in this-days long search and from all citizens who called in information about Mr. Estridge.”

Anyone with information about this or any case should call the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office at 803-283-3388 and select Option 4 or submit a tip in one of the following ways: use the link www.p3tips.com/983 or download the P#Tips mobile app available for both Apple and Android devices.
