Why not take the child and ransom the body? Why stop and molest her before they even got her out of the house? Why make claims that the drop off of ransom will be exhausting? What would they care if he's well-rested or not? Why say JR will be scanned for electronic devices? Were they planning on meeting him face to face?

All of those points I ponder make me think this wasn't the work of a foreign faction wanting to kidnap a child at all, but someone who thought they could sound like one, yet didn't.

Victimology (borrowed from Maikai on another thread) might suggest that the combination of JBR and JR provided the killer with some desired set of circumstances. The wealthy American businessman alone doesn't provide the perp with the predatory personal gratification that's driving the whole thing. The blonde-hair blue-eyed six year old American girl alone doesn't give the perp the ability to justify his action in his own mind. Together he gets the gratification and the excuses.

The only reading I get from these RN lines is that maybe the perp's a motivational speaker: Its up to you now, get plenty of rest, use your common sense, and don't try to grow a brain. There's nothing here that would automatically connect the perp to JR's 'circles'.

In fact, doesn't the perp lack personal knowledge of JR since he seems to think JR is from the south?

The only contact that the perp has had within JR's circles for which there is evidence, is JBR.
