Andy was last seen in Wichita Falls, Texas on the afternoon of December 9, 1961. He was at home with his older brother when he went outside to play between 12:45 and 1:00 pm. His mother returned at 2:30 pm and could not find him. The family searched for Andy without success before reporting him missing to police at 8:00 pm. Several searches were done, all of which turned up no sign of Andy.
