This trial has taken so long. I am still here waiting for justice for Catherine and Sylon and of course all of her family and friends that miss her.

I wish that they could find her and give her a proper burial.

A search is under way at the old bath house in Hot Springs that could possibly give prosecutors evidence in the trial of Matthew Tornquist. He’s accused of killing his mother, Catherine, who disappeared in October 2011.

Construction workers on Wednesday made a gruesome discovery. Multiple bones were found; along with other items possibly related to the case. One witness tells KOTA Territory News that bones, a knife and a photo ID belonging to Matthew Tornquist were found at the scene.

The remains found are not Catherine's.

The article said that it was deer remains. The 'rush', if you will, was not because of the bones but the ID.

The trial, which starts Monday, has been moved to a Rapid City courtroom and is expected to last at least a week...

Jury selection is expected to begin Monday afternoon. Without a witness to her death or the recovery of her body, prosecutors will have to rely on the testimony of witnesses close to a mother and her son and evidence collected during the investigation.

Info about the prosecution's case. Allegedly, he used a silencer and a stolen weapon to shoot her multiple times while she was in bed. The weapon was found in the ceiling of his rented dorm at National American University. Shell casings found near the bed. He also blew through $10k in cash shortly there after. Damning, I'd say.

After only two hours of deliberation, a Pennington County jury has convicted Matthew Tornquist of the 2011 murder of his mother Catherine Tornquist at their Hot Springs home.

Tornquist, 28, sat impassively through the jury’s declaration that he is guilty of first-degree murder and the theft of $10,000 on Oct. 4, 2011.

I am so glad he was found guilty but I agree. It's not over.
