On March 20, 2019, just before 10:00pm, Sioux Falls Police, Sioux Falls Fire Rescue and paramedics were dispatched to the area of Falls Park for a report of an adult woman in the Big Sioux River.
Officers made contact with Andrea Alex Flowers, 30yo, of Sioux Falls, who stated her wife had gone into the river and she had gone in after her. As the investigation continued, SFFR began a search of the water just north of the Falls Park Drive bridge in an attempt to locate the woman who was allegedly in the water.
The investigation eventually revealed the missing woman was in Texas and officers spoke with her over the phone. There were no concerns at that point that anyone else had gone into the water, so the water search and rescue was ended.
Andrea Alex Flowers was ultimately arrested for making a false report, possession of a controlled substance, possession of paraphernalia and a warrant.

This angers me! Having first responders risk their lives for absolutely nothing!
