chain of custody reg. swaps from avery seems f*ed up...

the theory of "the last person who touched the item leaves the most DNA"...
a "good shedder"... as mrs. culhane said it during trial, is proven bullcrap.
secretors/non-secretors has "no basic in science", according to dr. karl reich, DNA consultant.
as you already saw, they (defense) got a similar Rav4, and also a same looking car key. they gave it to avery, he held the key for 12 minutes... and only a tenth the amount of DNA could be obtained from that key in the new experiment.
so there's a bit too much DNA from avery on it.
also:
q-tip or tooth brush are "great sources of DNA", according to dr. reich.
so the biggest red flag here is:
there are NO mixtures on these items. it should have THs DNA on it, but it doesn't.

No mix of blood or DNA which would indicate Steven and Teresa had any contact.

6-7 minutes in in this episode, Dr. Reich retrieves evidence from Sherry Culhane. She is STILL mishandling evidence. She still does her job wrong! They discuss how there are no images evidence or the seals on the evidence. That made Zellner make a small WTF face.
Almost 8 minutes in, there is a closeup on the key. Almost looks like a WK is scratched onto it. Not sure if that is real or random scratches that look like letters...
The fabric from the lanyard still attached to the key is grubby with the black smudging you get on items handled frequently. No DNA in that? We live in a time where scientists can scoop a cup of water out of a lake and can tell you what kind of animals live in that lake based off of DNA traces they left behind, but you can't find DNA in greases and dead human skin?

Sherry Culhane's lab is a disgrace. It begins to look like any sign of competence or integrity is a detriment to advancement in the law enforcement community in this area.
