Serbia - At least 8 dead in a mass shooting in the village of Dubona, 21-year-old male suspect at large

At least eight people have been killed and 13 wounded in a shooting in the Serbian village of Dubona, the country’s Interior Ministry spokesperson told CNN.

The shooter remains at large, and a warrant has been issued for a 21-year-old male suspect, identified as Uros B. by Interior Minister Bratislav Gasic.

The police have cordoned off the area where they suspected him to be hiding, according CNN affiliate channel N1.

Uros Blazic was sentenced on12 December 2024 to 20 years in prison for killing nine people, and injuring 12 others. As he was under 21 years of age, 20 years was the maximum sentence he could get.

His father Radisa Blazic was also sentenced to 20 years in prison for weapon trafficking, production of weapons, and an aggravated offence against general security.
