Maybe I am the only one here who cares, but I almost started crying. No more shuttles, the entire space program in jeopardy and now this:

Diminished funding from the National Science Foundation (NSF) and the state of California has shut down the SETI Institute's search for extraterrestrial life.

I'm really sorry to hear this and hope private funding can float this project. It's a valuable endeavor.
