Matter of Shellharbour murder accused returns to court
“The prosecution is still compiling the brief of evidence against Shellharbour murder accused Tamara Lee Doust, a court has heard.
Ms Doust is charged with the stabbing murder of Jack Westren, 25, in Dunmore, and being an accessory after the fact to murder.
Mr Westren was found suffering serious stab wounds to his abdomen in Saturn Crescent, Dunmore on the afternoon of January 28.
Paramedics responded, but despite their efforts, Mr Westren died at the scene.
Doust's matter was mentioned at Wollongong Local Court today, although she did not appear.
Crown prosecutor Jacqueline Azad said evidence outstanding from the brief included a postmortem report, interview transcripts and digital forensics results.
Magistrate David Williams adjourned the matter for four weeks.
Six children aged between 12 and 15 have also been charged in connection with Mr Westren's death, one of whom - a 15-year-old boy - is charged with murder.”
Six children charged with murder over alleged stabbing at Shellharbour train station
“Six children and an adult have been charged with murder over the fatal stabbing of a 25-year-old man at an Illawarra train station earlier this year.
Jack Westren was allegedly stabbed at Shellharbour Junction train station on the afternoon of January 28.
He was treated by paramedics at the scene but could not be revived.
Police charged 39-year-old Albion Park Rail woman Tamara Lee Doust and a 15-year-old boy with murder earlier this year.
Six other children were charged with lesser offences over the incident, but police said five of them had their charges upgraded to murder on Tuesday.
A total of eight people have been charged over the matter.
Ms Doust will return to court in December, after a charge certificate on one count of murder was filed by prosecutors in Wollongong Local Court on Wednesday.
An earlier charge of accessory after the fact against Ms Doust will be withdrawn.”
