Singer Lynsey De Paul has died of a suspected brain haemorrhage, age 64. She was the first female songwriter to win an Ivor Novello award and also represented the UK in the Eurovision Song contest in 1977.

Although she received five marriage proposals (and dated Dudley Moore, Ringo Starr, Sean Connery etc) and had a long-term relationship with James Coburn, she never married. De Paul also spoke openly about her abusive childhood and relationships she'd had.

She was a non-smoking, non-drinking vegetarian and her death was unexpected.
