WFAA followed Hastings to Cuba Road in Bridgeport, where the Wise County Sheriff’s Office says Sanford was last seen on August 23. Deputies said she had been staying on a roughly 250-acre property, where her car was later found on August 25.

“This is the field where they had located her car,” Hastings recalled.

She says she contacted police on August 25, after her niece—Monica Sanford’s daughter—told her no one had heard from her mom.

“She told me about a Facebook post. I went and read the Facebook post from the ex-boyfriend,” said Hastings.

Yes, and my first tought why was she spending the night "in the woods" on a 250 acre property? But this article clarified that she was staying in a trailer on the property. Wise County woman missing for weeks; foul play suspected

I agree, she wouldn't have left her dog behind nor would she have missed contacting her daughter on her daughter's birthday.

Does anyone know if she also went by the last name "Martin"? I found a fairly recent court reord (matter is closed) for someone with her first and middle name, using both the last name Sanford and Martin in case history.
