GUILTY South Africa - Cuburne van Wyk, 3, beaten & burned alive, Johannesburg, 6 Aug 2014

A three year old who went missing while playing outside with his siblings in Johannesburg has been found burnt and beaten to death inside a vehicle. Heartbreakingly, the identification was confirmed by the little boy's father, who recognised his face, and a scar. Police say DNA confirmation will follow soon.

'The father of Cuburne van Wyk, 3, who went missing on Wednesday, has confirmed that the body of a burnt toddler is his son, according to reports.'

'Police spokesperson Kweza said the child died as a result of multiple head injuries and burn wounds.'

'Police are still looking for 25-year-old Katleho Phoku, known as "Chicken", who they think could help with the investigation into the boy's disappearance.'

The hunt for a man suspected of kidnapping and allegedly killing a toddler in Reiger Park has now intensified, with community members joining the police search.

Three-year-old Cuburne van Wyk went missing from outside his parents’ home in Reiger Park last week and on Saturday a body was discovered in the bush behind a mine dump in the area.

They're not saying who it was, but it was 'Chicken' they wanted to find so......

The man convicted of kidnapping and killing three-year old Cuburne van Wyk was on Friday sentenced to life imprisonment. The Reiger Park toddler was strangled and burnt alive in August last year.
