“He kind of opened his eyes, we locked eyes but he couldn’t talk and then that was it. It was just almost like a second and that was it.”

This was the last interaction Bally Chuene had in a hospital theatre in the early hours of Thursday with his 60-year-old brother, Dr Oupa Chuene.

The well-known Thembisa doctor had been stabbed multiple times in the head at home in Glen Austin, Midrand, mere hours earlier.

“It’s a horrible thing. I keep on having these flashes of him. You could tell that he wanted to say something, he wanted to talk but you could tell that he was in terrible pain,” said Bally.

I know this is a bit late, but something I would be keeping my eye on and update.
The brutality of this attack just seems beyond me. I listen and follow true crime and listen to something like this many times, but it gets me every time, how someone could be this callous and this brutal to another person whose life's work is to help others
