Thanks Buzz - It is a very large problem perhaps even more than the numbers you cited.

The last five years have been astronomical as far as the numbers coming across the border; many more millions of illegal immigrants have entered the U.S..

From Law Enforcement News:

"The first 6 months of '07 deadliest for officers in decades".

http://www.officer.com/online/article.jsp?siteSection=1&id=36932

down toward the bottom - "increasing presence of military-style weapons on the street"; and one officer from S.C. says they just don't value life anymore.
Rather than trying to get rid of the weapons, it's probably a lot more effective to get rid of all those illegal immigrants carrying those guns. Makes sense to me.

This is in alot of cities; not always illegal immigrants. If you have a kid and set a box of matches out in front of him; good or bad, he's probably going to play with the matches.

The police are evidently not able to defend themselves against the weapons that are being used against them today. As someone pointed out - the Florida problems are legal Puerto Ricans.

Not to blame it all on weapons, but it's inexcusable to me that these types of assault weapons are so available.

Definitely it would help to deport illegal families contributing to our social problems. Do all illegal families contribute to drug and gang behavior? I don't really know. I know they do contribute here; but I don't know what percentage - as opposed to black youth or other poor members of our community. My son mentored "high risk" middle school boys for a year; he said it was unreal the home situations they come from, and the emotional problems some of them had.

Actually a great aunt of my husband's has been illegal in the US for 50 years. She originally came from Canada. No, not all illegals are cirminals, neither are all criminals illegals.
I do believe that if an illegal gets caught doing a crime, they need to be deported and banned. That's the very least first step the USCIS, ICE and DHS need to make.

About the original topic, I find myself agreeing with Cal... which is shocking really, considering my beliefs about the death penalty.
I also very much agree with what Lightwaveryder said. Not sure how I managed combining agreeing with both of these opposites really. :waitasec:

They're already doing a crime.

You know what I mean. Semantics.

No wait, I'll clarify myself anyway. What the USCIS, ICE and cronies are doing now, is waiting until an illegal comes to them. This puts them at risk of being deported. But usually these are people who are actually trying to set things right, and in most cases didn't even know they were breaking a law. They are innocently inquiring about their status and get locked up and flown out. These are people who mean no harm and have not caused any harm. In many cases these are people who didn't even work illegally or anything else. Now illegals who commit a crime like robbing a bank, killing someone, raping a child (Terapon Adhan) are NOT being deported. Because it requires the authorities to actually get off their asses and do something. That's what I have a problem with. Sure, throw all illegals out. But don't be lazy and wait for them to come to you, get out there and hunt down the ones we need to get rid of the most.

Can we get back on topic now though and stick with a discussion about MS-13? There is always the illegals topic in the Political Pavillion for those who wish to discuss immigration matters.

Well, I think I read on this familymatters site that 60% of that gang is illegal hispanics.

Why on earth do the illegal criminals get back out on the street? It boggles my mind.

Also, the govt. needs to track what percentage of illegals are committing serious crimes.

"Government not tracking illegal alien crime even as it spirals up"

http://www.familymatters.org/index.php.?id=486375

This article mentions the gang and how it is sweeping the country.

Yes, if the govt would go after the illegals, not waiting for the crimes to happen, wouldn't that be great?

FOX news is a little late on the MS13 bandwagon. This gang has been sweeping the country for years. One only has to 'google' 'MS13' and 'Los Angeles MS13' and see the # of hits. This is a scary group that has been in existance for quite a number of years, stealthly infiltrating our cities and is now an epidemic across our nation.

The Most Dangerous Gang in America
They're a violent force in 33 states and counting. Inside the battle to police Mara Salvatrucha.

By Arian Campo-Flores
Newsweek
March 28 issue - The signs of a new threat in northern Virginia emerged ominously in blood-spattered urban streets and rural scrub. Two summers ago the body of a young woman who had informed against her former gang associates was found on the banks of the Shenandoah River, repeatedly stabbed and her head nearly severed

one day last fall, FBI Director Robert Mueller called Swecker into his office. "You have a mandate to go out and address this gang," Mueller told him. Mueller declared MS-13 the top priority of the bureau's criminal-enterprise branch—which targets organized crime—and authorized the creation of a new national task force to combat it. The task force, which includes agencies like the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), aims to take on MS-13 much as the FBI once tackled the Mafia.

Illegal immigration and human smuggling
According to The Washington Times, MS 13 "is thought to have established a major smuggling center" in Mexico.[8] There are reports that MS 13 members have been sent to Arizona to target border guards and Minuteman Project volunteers.[9][10]. There have been several reports that Al Qaeda has contacted MS 13 about human smuggling.[11][12] Another report states that an alliance between MS 13 and Al-Qaeda is improbable.[13]

Armed with two machetes and a sawed-off shotgun, MS-13 gang members allegedly set off in a car last October to carry out an assassination at a location as brazen as it was chilling: a Prince William County school.

The plan was to shoot a wayward associate nicknamed “Peligroso,” or danger, as he left Gar-Field High School in Woodbridge after night classes wrapped up, according to a search warrant.

But the carload of armed gang members was stopped by authorities as they rolled into the school’s parking lot, court records show. An informant had tipped off police just a day earlier.

The narrowly averted hit was part of a nine-count indictment against members of MS-13 unsealed Friday in federal court in Alexandria. Thirteen purported gang members have been charged in connection with the attempted murder and with three killings across Northern Virginia and are in custody. Eleven of the defendants could face the death penalty or life in prison if convicted.

Thirteen members of the notorious Salvadoran gang MS-13 were charged Thursday in connection with seven murders including the 2016 killings of high school teenagers on New York's Long Island.

Ten of the suspects are illegal immigrants, two are U.S. citizens and one is a green card holder, Capers said. He would not elaborate if Immigration*and Customs Enforcement (ICE) was involved

Hard to any other msm news on the subject.

Police would not identify which gang is suspected to have carried out the slaying, but Maria Reyes, Damaris’s mother, has said that her daughter had become involved with a local clique of MS-13.

Fairfax County Police Chief Edwin C. Roessler Jr. said Thursday at a news conference that the slaying of Damaris A. Reyes Rivas was “savage and brutal . . . horrific,” but police would not discuss how she was killed or any motive. Roessler said authorities had uncovered video evidence of the slaying before the teen’s body was found Saturday, but would not describe the footage.

How the brutal MS-13 gang makes its money
APRIL 20, 20172:46PM

“[MS-13] is one of the most dangerous and rapidly expanding criminal gangs in the world today,” Philip Holloway, a legal analyst and former police officer, told Fox News. “MS-13’s mottos is ‘Mata, roba, viola, controla’ (Kill, steal, rape, control),” he noted.

A few years ago (no link) i heard that a tactic/ initiation as to have one of their women and child stant by what appeared to be a broken down car and the male (ms13 member) would hide down the embankment, when someone stopped to help they would be attacked.
