This article has additional info stating she was kicked out of a tailgate and returned to the apartment, eventually falling out of a 17-story window.
I cannot imagine the pain her mother is going through. But as a mother of college age kids, the alcohol use/abuse is INSANE. Brie may not have been suicidal, but, if impaired, bad stuff happens. I wish this party culture would come down a few notches.

According to KGNS, Rodriguez contacted the Austin Police Department (APD) after her daughter’s phone location began pinging near a creek and she was still unable to reach her. What we know about Texas A&M student Brianna Aguilera’s death in Austin

Several sources stated that the phone was found near the creek. The nearest creek is several blocks away and is in the opposite direction of the stadium. Pin is where her body was found. The nearest creek is to the left. Stadium is on the right.

Lots of important info in the mother's interview with Nancy Grace. Brianna was supposedly fighting with one of the "friends" and there was a physical altercation.

''Included in the new information was a digital suicide note that APD said they found on the A&M student's cell phone.''

''Investigators confirmed Aguilera had lost her phone at the tailgate. After returning to the apartment, she borrowed a friend’s phone around 12:43–12:44 a.m. to call an out-of-town boyfriend. Witnesses said they heard an argument, which phone and text records later confirmed. The call lasted about one minute, roughly two minutes before the 911 call that reported her body.
Later that afternoon, at about 12:54 p.m., officers made contact with residents of the apartment who were attempting to report Aguilera missing. They had already called 911 at 12:14 p.m., saying she had not returned.
Aguilera’s mother also reported her missing around 12:50 p.m., later calling police at 2 p.m. after learning Aguilera’s phone had been found in a wooded area.''

“Brianna’s parents firmly believe there is much more information that needs to be discovered regarding their daughter’s death. They feel certain this was not an accident. This was certainly not a suicide,” Buzbee said.
Shortly after Austin police released new details in the investigation on Thursday, the Buzbee Law Firm posted a statement announcing it will hold its own press conference on Friday at 1 p.m. at the firm’s Houston office in the JPMorgan Chase Tower downtown.''

Further investigation of Aguilera’s phone found she had written and deleted a suicide note dated Nov. 25, which was dedicated to specific people in her life.

Friends told police Aguilera had made suicidal comments beginning in October. A text message to a friend earlier in the evening of her death also indicated thoughts of suicide, police said.

Police said at no point during the investigation did any evidence point to criminal activity.

The KHOU article up yonder names the tailgate as Austin Rugby Club, which is east of the stadium. There is a wooded area and creaks nearby.
I don't think there's any grand criminal conspiracy here. She was kicked out of the tailgate and lost her phone nearby.

So this is a beautiful young woman with dreams of law school who goes to a tailgate party, gets drunk (as millions of young people have done through the ages), calls her boyfriend late at night, and after a very short call, immediately runs out and jumps off a 17-story building??
Sorry, strains belief. She reportedly had a fight with an unnamed woman shortly before that. What was that all about?

I think this needs a deeper look.

Being young, attractive and intending to attend a law school does not make a person immune to suicide, particularly when alcohol is involved. The mother is in denial which is a pretty standard stage of the grieving process.

Police said Aguilera attended a tailgate party earlier in the evening and was asked to leave around 10pm because of her level of intoxication.
The camera system at the apartment complex she returned to helped establish a timeline of what happened next.

  • Surveillance video showed Aguilera arriving at the apartment complex at 11 p.m. and going to a unit on the 17th floor.
  • Around 12:30 a.m., a large group of people left the apartment, leaving Aguilera and three other young women inside.
  • Phone records show Aguilera had a one-minute phone call with an out-of-town boyfriend from 12:43 to 12:44 a.m.
  • Witnesses said she argued on the phone, which was later confirmed by the boyfriend.
  • Just two minutes later, at 12:46 a.m., police responded to a 911 call reporting Aguilera’s body was found outside.
  • Further investigation of Aguilera’s phone found she had written and deleted a suicide note dated Nov. 25, which was dedicated to specific people in her life.
  • Friends told police Aguilera had made suicidal comments beginning in October.
  • A text message to a friend earlier in the evening of her death also indicated thoughts of suicide, police said.

I am not fully knowledgeable about this case. Does anyone know if Brianna's family hired their own investigator? Thank you in advance

The police have ruled it a suicide, which leads me to believe they have video of what happened as there are cameras on the apartment building. Authorities found a deleted suicide note on her phone, also friends said she confided being suicidal weeks leading up to this. Maybe she thought she was going to get kicked out of university for being "disorderly" or whatever. I know that doesn't sound rational, but it might seem so if you are drunk and everyone around you is acting weirded out.

Nancy Grace - Brianna Aguilera's Mother
I watched this episode of Nancy Grace. Without knowing any of the evidence, she's already drawn conclusions that frankly are irresponsible based on what LE investigators have already released. She's trying to get views, but she's also giving mother false hope (and feeding into her blame others narrative).

What's awful about Nancy Grace is she fans flames for views that dont need to be. But families can have very, very difficult times accepting a loved one's suicide. I can't even imagine.

RIP.
