It isn't newsworthy because he pulled a gun on the police officers. It would still not be newsworthy if he was black. Justine Diamond was white and her shooting is plenty newsworthy, so maybe less of a chip on the shoulder attitude about black people would be appropriate here.

<modsnip> Then explain to us why an unarmed man running away from the police deserves a death sentence. Also, explain to us how Justine Diamond "acted shady" when she was shot by the police.

If they are "unarmed" it means they are not carrying a weapon.
