We all know that close to $700 in cash was left behind in Sherrill's purse, along with checks equaling another $700. I have always been hung up on that cash. Not so much about how she came to get it, but the fact that it was left behind. Most of the rumored perps in this case were losers and people of limited means. I am thinking what motivation would there be to enter that house and purposely ignore the purses, the purses that were lined up together. You can say it was a sexual motivation, but wouldn't losers like Garrison and Cox be interested in grabbing the cash as well? They have to eat. They have drug habits. Etc. That is a lot of money, especially for someone down on their luck. Could it be that the money was ignored, because the perp was not someone in need of money. Maybe someone so well off, that money never even registered with him when he entered the house, because money was never a problem for him. I am thinking of someone this applies to.

If someone was staging the scene and not a professional criminal or a stranger, they could have forgotten about it. They also could have been aware that other people would know how much money Sherrill would have in her purse. If it was missing a friend or coworker might have said, she should have had cash in her purse. As a hairdresser she would most likely get tips. She could have had graduation money of Suzie's too, people would possibly know that and the killer might have known and not wanted to risk it being reported stolen. I also thought Janis went through the purses as she was waiting for them to come home. If she was looking for an address book it's possible she moved the cash to a more visible spot.

I just don't think the people involved in this are that calculated. You are dealing with less than bright people most likely. Hell, almost all of the prime suspects in this case are in prison for other crimes that they obviously did not cover well. If you leave the checks, it looks like it was not robbery. And let's be honest, everybody knows a crime took place here, so why not take the money?

Why wouldn't they have taken the purses? That would suggest the women could have left by choice. Maybe they wanted it to look like an alien abduction lol.

I was watching old episodes of the X-Files and it seems like glass shakes when people are abducted. It could explain the broken light cover lol.
