Medical implant; Stainless or silver is present on the left lateral orbit joining the zygomatic.
Does anyone know if those materials were used for repairing orbital fractures back then?
Warning for medical photos in that link

Edit

Because if so, that facial injury along with her suspicious death, indicate to me she may have been a victim of repeated abuse. Also, I dont know how much health care cost back then, but would the fact she got this procedure done indicate she wasn't living in poverty?

In looking at the area where she was found, I am astonished that LE doesn’t suspect foul play. That absolutely looks like a remote drive (albeit in a highly affluent area), to dump and dash. The facility where she allegedly received treatment, was the first of its kind in California.

This was a woman of means, who might have been an inconvenience to someone that dumped her. I’d like to know more about her brand of clothes and shoes. Was her hair coiffed, etc. Those would be important elements

All just amateur opinion and speculation.

3400 and 3500 block of Paradise Drive - looks like she was dumped where Paradise Beach Park is currently

PMI reported to be 2-3 months here

"She had a single-jewel Westclock wrist watch with a yellow band on the left wrist, but no rings."

Her wrist watch was "inexpensive"

Looks like she wasn't the woman who stayed at the Tiburon Lodge/wasn't a patient at the Langley Porter Neuropsychiatric Institute.

She was in an automobile accident and had surgery.

I am waiting for the coroner to call. I will let you know.

Congratulations @othram for identifying Dorothy. The DNASolves article includes a testimonial that I'm sure I didn't read in this thread. In it, a woman matching Dorothy's description walked into the Trestle Glen fire station 3 months before her body was discovered. She told the firefighters that she was stranded and had no money for a taxi. The woman then asked them if she could sleep at the station, but the firefighters refused. Imagine if they said yes - we would've never heard of Dorothy Jean Williams AKA Marin County Jane Doe.

Marin County Jane Doe (1966) is now identified

This is so sad. I wonder if she went to the fire station because she believed it would be a safe place for her. But it seems none of the firefighters even offered her a ride to safety. What an incredibly sad situation.

Originally from Tasmania, Australia and therefore few - if anyone - were likely to be around and to know she was missing. I saw references to her being a WW2 war bride.

@pnlpV my sincere condolences - were you in Australia or the US when your mother went missing? What did you believe had happened to her? I hope you have been able to get her remains returned to family, if that is what you wish.
