4-day-old baby dies after dog bite in Greene County, sheriff says

The sheriff’s office said the baby was bitten by a dog Monday morning.

The baby was life-flighted to the University of Tennessee Medical Complex in Knoxville but later died of its injuries.

There was more than one dog in the home. Investigation continues.

That simply takes my breath away. What a horrible thing to happen.
How did the dog or dogs get to that infant? Was the baby left on a sofa or in a chair? Was he or she in a little baby crib such that a dog could get to the infant?
Where was a parent or other adult?
I cannot imagine an autopsy on a 4-day-old infant. SMH.
