A 48-year-old man and his 43-year-old girlfriend in Tennessee have been arrested for allegedly committing a series of horrific sex crimes against a little girl under the age of 10 over the course of nearly a year. William Joe Beene III, of Sequatchie County, and Brandon Sloan “Brandy” Hawkins, of Marion County, were both taken into custody last week and charged with five counts each of rape of a child, authorities announced.

According to a press release from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, the investigation into the couple was conducted by the MCSO Criminal Investigations Division along with the Sequatchic County Sheriff’s Office and the 12th Judicial District Drug and Violent Crime Task Force.

A probable cause affidavit obtained by Chattanooga ABC affiliate WTVC provided additional information regarding the arrests. The report states that the couple’s victim was Hawkins’ 7-year-old daughter and that she was forcibly raped approximately five times between December 2022 and August 2023.

Egg/sperm donors have to undergo a ton of testing before being allowed to assist in building a family. While egg donors do get compensated, a few thousand dollars does not truly cover the risks to their future fertility and health. There needs to be another term for “parents” like Hawkins. JMO.

Am I seeing an abridged version of her FB? She seems to be solely posting photos of the child, at least for the past year or so.

I don’t post photos of my kids or grandkids on social media so maybe that’s why it stuck out to me. Knowing the circumstances, well, it feels creepy. JMO

Yes. I know that there’s no harm meant, but sperm/egg donors and surrogates are a massive blessing to so many families…many of whom are not exactly open about having assistance in building their families. Egg donors risk their future fertility. Surrogates risk their lives. There needs to be a different moniker for the “parent” here. JMO.

A surrogate is a surrogate. This woman is not that. She is a person who gave birth to a child. Nothing more. Nothing less.
It is factual while giving her zero credit for altruism, maternal instinct, compassion, or humanity. I stand by it.
