Do we know anything about the mother? I'm assuming they have a really good reason to not give her custody of her own child. Is she on drugs? Would she be willing to hurt her own child? Poor baby. I hope his mother does the right thing for him.

So far this is all the information that has been released. I got the amber alert about 15 minutes ago. I'm looking through local news now for additional information.

It says the mom is wanted by the Chattanooga PD for especially aggravated kidnapping. Wasn't sure that involved but it *sounds* bad. So I looked that up in the Tennessee law an found this:

2019 Tennessee Code Title 39 - Criminal Offenses Chapter 13 - Offenses Against Person
Part 3 - Kidnapping and False Imprisonment
§ 39-13-305. Especially aggravated kidnapping.

Universal Citation: TN Code § 39-13-305 (2019)
  • (a) Especially aggravated kidnapping is false imprisonment, as defined in § 39-13-302:
    • (1) Accomplished with a deadly weapon or by display of any article used or fashioned to lead the victim to reasonably believe it to be a deadly weapon;

    • (2) Where the victim was under the age of thirteen (13) at the time of the removal or confinement;

    • (3) Committed to hold the victim for ransom or reward, or as a shield or hostage; or

    • (4) Where the victim suffers serious bodily injury.
  • (b)
    • (1) Especially aggravated kidnapping is a Class A felony.

    • (2) If the offender voluntarily releases the victim alive or voluntarily provides information leading to the victim's safe release, such actions shall be considered by the court as a mitigating factor at the time of sentencing.

Thank goodness this little one was found so quickly. The picture of him which says a TBI special agent is holding him is just precious. So little to be going through so much drama.

I wonder who was supposed to be caring from him before the mama took him? Hard to think of a mom not having her two week old baby. So glad he is safe.
