Columbia man tells his neighbor he's a 'demon' before double homicide
News Channel 5

This is a few miles from where I live and has everyone shook up. Some of the details are gory and quite unnerving. I've never seen anything like this happen in our once quiet town.

I've gone down a rabbit hole to do research on the suspect, and the things I've found are what you see in horror movies.

If this needs to be posted elsewhere, will someone please let me know?

The suspected gunman, Byron Childers, lived just a few houses down from two of the victims. He is now facing multiple charges, including two counts of first-degree murder and one count of attempted first-degree murder.
Columbia tragedy leaves two neighbors dead and a community grieving

According to court documents, Childers was walking down Somerset Lane with a rifle when he shot Bidle while calling him a demon. Childers reportedly shot Bidle multiple times as he was lying in the roadway while shouting “Demon from hell” and “it was safe now.”

As Bidle lay wounded, Wright opened the door of her nearby home once she heard the gunshots. Childers walked toward her front doorway and shot Wright several times, which was witnessed by her husband inside the home, according to court documents.

He shot Biddle more and proceeded to yell he was a "demon from hell" and "it was safe now" afterward. He died outside his home. His wife, Amy, went to Biddle after he was shot. That's when Childers dragged Amy across the concrete, causing scrapes to her knees and elbows. He then grabbed her around the neck, where he restricted her airway. He then shoved a vape pen down her throat, according to the arrest affidavit.

Childers then punched Amy in her face.

Absolutely terrifying. These poor people. Psychosis? Just awful.
