Cell phone- corded? Does this mean she had a cell phone with the cord plugged into the cellphone & the a/c connection left dangling free? Or do they mean headphones with a cord plugged in to the cellphone?
What do you think?
Did someone dump her & her belongings or did she walk there?

I agree. Maybe she left her home in a hurry with someone. Slipped away from a husband or bf late in the evening- pure speculation but boxer shorts and a jacket are interesting choices/clothing combination. At first I was thinking maybe she was a teenager that snuck away at night, but I see age pre-50. A teen would not be in that broad range IMO.

I assumed that "corded headphones" meant that they weren't cordless/Bluetooth headphones, like these. (Image via Amazon.com)

The type of cellphone would help narrow down the year she died. It will be interesting to see if they determine a cause of death.

Oops, I saw corded cell phone - no clue how I read it that way. It is definitely corded headphones.

There were detoriated pants or shorts over the boxers. This lady wore a regular hiking/walking outfit, not only boxers.
I guess she went out for a walk, listening to music on her phone and fell prey to someone there or died of a natural cause.

Pre 50 means an adult up to 50. Does not mean 50s. It is difficult to determine age from the bones between 30 and 50, the range of variety is wide and not much bone change during these decades.

Sitting here in my own warm house, I'm wearing a shirt...yes I'm an old lady Sunday School teacher, but this woman was outdoors without a shirt???

Seems most of her clothing was already so decomposed that they couldnt even determine whether her pants were shorts or full... so I assume she wore a shirt as well, but it was already rotted away. The fleece and the boxers were synthetic fiber and held up longer.

Still in NamUs.
Rule-outs please?

That lady? A bit young maybe, but from the area.
The National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs)

Hopefully she has been Ruled-out. She is young. Hopefully she is safe, but I don't see a thread for her here, so I'll start one.
Edit - I can not find any other links anywhere for CLR being missing. Perhaps she has actually been located? So I decided against starting a thread at this time.

Is anyone thinking of the trans element, or even the remains being a smaller male? She was wearing boxer briefs and a fairly masculine outfit (don't know many women who wear loafers and boxer briefs). Curious to consider giving TN's attitude towards LGBT is pretty horrible.

There was a woman I think named Victoria that was commuting to school around Knoxville and disappeared on her way home. There is a thread on here if I can find it. It happened after 2014. She was in the age range, I think. I am going to go look.

It's not her.

Oh plenty of cis women wear boxers and loafers. We are not all high heels and minkskirts...
I wouldnt see that as hint towards a TG person or someone gender fluid.

''Investigators entered the case into the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs) as UP76025 but they were unable to identify the victim through traditional forensic methods.

In 2021, the Maury County Sheriff's Department turned to forensic genetic genealogy. Skeletal remains were sent to Othram in The Woodlands, Texas and a suitable DNA extract was developed. Othram’s scientists used Forensic-Grade Genome Sequencing® to build a comprehensive DNA profile, and Othram’s in-house genetic genealogy team used the profile to generate investigative leads.

The leads were returned to law enforcement, and investigators continued their investigative efforts. Eventually, a family member was identified for DNA testing, which confirmed that the remains belonged to Amanda Newcomb. Amanda was born on October 31, 1978, in Columbia, Maury County, Tennessee. It was discovered that Amanda had died sometime after 2018, and no missing person’s report had been filed.

The Maury County Sheriff's Department asks that anyone with information or anyone that had contact with or knew of any associates of Amanda Newcomb between February 2018 and early 2020, to please contact the Maury County Sheriff’s office at

Went to school with Amanda. She had a rough home life. It didn't get better for her as a adult. It is sad no one reported her missing.
