FRANKLIN, Ky. (TCD) -- The parents of a 4-year-old child, one of whom runs a child care center, are facing nearly 200 criminal counts after officials found the juvenile locked in a bedroom alone.

Morgan Soper, director of KinderCare in Goodlettsville, and Johnathan Jenkins, the child’s father, were both charged with 89 counts of wanton endangerment, 89 counts of endangering the welfare of a minor and one count of criminal abuse of a child 12 or younger.

On Thursday, the Simpson County, Kentucky Sheriff’s Office responded to 4980 Springfield Road for a welfare check. When deputies arrived, they found the child in the bedroom and discovered Soper and Jenkins had been leaving the child alone throughout the day for “quite some time,” deputies said.

I worked with Morgan for almost a year now. I knew the child that was locked in the room alone with their youngest child. I know many people might be wondering how the people she worked with never knew. She played us all saying that he was in school and never told us he was kicked out. I agree that they need to spend time in prison. Some of the other people we work with and I just wonder where the boys and her daughter are. Even though the boys were little mischief makers we still loved them and would have helped her if she had asked. Please don’t come at me with negative comments and/or comments about the center. No matter what she did the rest of us left at the center love the children that go there, are willing to protect them and are just trying to get back to normal after this. We will not stop worrying about her children we just hope they are well taken care of wherever they are.
