Chattanooga Police need your help searching for a man who went missing on Thursday, January 21.

Police say 27-year-old Michael Wigfall was last seen driving a 2006 blue Chevy Trailblazer.

It is to believe that Wigfall is dealing with mental health issues and does not have his medication.

MISSING PERSON CASE: Have You Seen Michael Wigfall?

Again, Wigfall's mother told WGNS that her son was diagnosed with Schizophrenia in 2019. She said that he was last seen leaving his home in Chattanooga on Thursday, January 21, 2021.

While Wigfall's destination is not known, his ties to Murfreesboro could lead him to this area. If you spot him in Murfreesboro or the 2006 Chevy Trailblazer (SUV that is blue in color) that he was driving, you can contact the Murfreesboro Police Department at (615)893-1311.

Michael Wigfall's family says they're worried for his safety, having been off his medication since 2019. The last time anyone saw Michael, he was heading toward his Chattanooga home Jan. 20, and he may have gone to Murfreesboro, where his mother Tawana Corder lives.

[snipped]

Corder says she and Michael have talked every night since his diagnosis and on the phone, he appears fine. Michaels family in Chattanooga says lately Michael's symptoms returned and he was once again talking to himself. Corder tells us Michael has tried pills and even a long-lasting injection for treatment.

"Once Michael turned 26, he was no longer on my insurance so it was hard for anyone to help him see a doctor to get medication," Corder said.

Ty for posting these links. Michael's mom and others have posted important info regarding Michael. WS TOS doesn't allow me to post the photos shown on the FB group of:
  • the jacket Michael was wearing when last seen
  • a memorial tattoo he has on one of his arms
  • the vehicle he was driving when he left
  • a MP flyer

I know (in my head, don’t want to speak for others) when you read “mental illness” thoughts immediately go to self harm. Which is ironic because I suffer from mental illness, and I sure wouldn’t want family, loved ones, etc to write me off as a suicide. Schizophrenia is sooooooooo different though, and him being off meds for so long is a big red flag.

Note to fellow sleuthers, if I ever wind up missing you can immediately rule out suicide. I will never attempt or commit suicide. Say I get worse and for some reason did decide on self harm (never going to happen as I fear hell more than earthly suffering), I absolutely would leave a letter for someone to say what I was going to do and where I could be found.

I’m on a rambling roll all over WS today. Sorry.

IMO MOO

Me either @YaYa_521 it seems like this is the unfortunate type of update we’ve been seeing quite a bit lately. So terribly sad...

It's just heartbreaking for the person that chose the act and so very devistating to the ones that Loved them. Many people do not recover from this awful situation, too damn frequent lately ☹️
