Even a roughly estimated age range, in this case, would really go a long way IMO. I was going to search for a Micky and Butch who may have been married near the area or lived together at some point. A long shot, and just one explanation of the names, but without an age it makes it an even longer shot. I doubt Micky and Butch is how their names would have appeared anyway, but who knows.

ETA: I retract my statement, there are dozens of “Butch”s in the Nashville area alone and approximately 40 years old! I just picked a medium range age. I didn’t realize how popular the name was

Ode Edwin Ulver – The Charley Project

This guy sort of fits the description. The fact that he reportedly rented a plane to fly to Detroit, Michigan is interesting. Puts him closer to Tennessee than California. And his nickname is Butch. Not much info on this case and he disappeared in 1977.

Eta: I just realized he disappeared from Sioux Falls, South Dakota (was visiting there from CA) but Riverside, California is investigating the case

I'm thinking that he was most likely homeless so that makes it even harder to try to narrow down an area to start searching in I wonder about homeless shelters around that area or soup kitchens? Maybe one of them would recognize his description and be able to tell us something about him at all probably a long shot at this point because it's been so long ago and I know those shelters see a lot of faces coming and going.

Hi everyone. I’m new here but not new to this case. I can fill everyone in but have no clue how I’ll be notified of responses.
Ode Edwin Ulver-he went by Butch. Married and divorced from Sue. Butch was running drugs for the Cartel and at the time of his disappearance he was sleeping with “dating” the 15 year old daughter of an either cartel member or leader. He went to SD under the guise of simply visiting a 1/2 sister and her husband. While there with the cartel daughter he told the family he was going to Detroit to buy a car. He actually rented a plane in his brother in law’s name and flew it to South America. No one knew this even happened until the FBI showed up at his sister’s home and his ex-wife’s place of employment in California. The federal agents told family that they had found the plane crashed but the plane was empty and they were looking for Butch. No one has seen him since. I found a P.O. Box in California rented in his name until the 1990s but I’m stuck after then. I’ve asked for the missing persons pages to correct the information they gave but I’ve gotten zero response. Anyhow I’m open to all help possible to find out what happened to Butch.

i dont think its the same guy because if he died in 77 and was found in 96 how would they have the tattoos?
