In September, Williams was indicted in Washington County, Tennessee, on multiple counts of child rape, sexual battery and sexual exploitation of a minor. Three cases show the charges date as far back as 2008, court records state.

Williams also was indicted in federal court on three counts of producing child that mirror the state charges, with three victims between 2009 and 2020. He was set for trial in January, court records state.

Just an opinion here, corrections officers are in short supply. Mandatory OT and lousy working conditions are just part of it.

Sylva PD, according to their website, has 15 officers, and Jackson Co doesn't have many either. Small town and the Sheriff's department covers a large but mainly rural area.

Williams had a place in Cullowhee, Jackson Co for 7 years so he's probably familiar with the area. - It's close to Sylva. On one hand it seemed likely he would have gone there, but also unlikely because it's what LE would have expected. IMHO.

As far as him escaping, that made no sense - especially the fact that they didn't realize he'd busted out of the van till they got to their destination.

Since he was a drug dealer in Jackson Co, I wonder if some of his old associates / customers might help him hide. Not sure they'd want to risk getting busted themselves, so maybe not. More of a chance if they live in a more remote / isolated area - which is very possible. He had a lot of nerve to be walking around in the little Jackson Plaza.
