The mother of 23-year-old Pfc. Katia Duenas-Aguilar is now offering a $55,000 reward. Duenas-Aguilar was from Texas but was stationed at Fort Campbell. Officers responded to a home on May 18 in the 900 block of Tiny Town Road for an ambulance call. Authorities found Duenas-Aguilar dead inside the home.

Domingo Garcia, national president of the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC), said at a press conference Saturday that LULAC is in solidarity with Carmen Aguilar, Deunas-Aguilar’s mother. Initially, a $25,000 reward was offered, but Garcia said Aguilar has taken a “profound step by doubling the reward to $55,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of her daughter’s killer.”

“For this mother to commit not just money but her total soul to finding whoever did this deserves our complete and unequivocal support,” Garcia said.

An autopsy report from the Montgomery County Medical Examiner’s Office said Dueñas Aguilar suffered 68 stab wounds to her neck and upper body, The Clarksville Leaf-Chronicle reported.

The medical examiner ruled the cause of death a homicide as a result of sharp force injuries of the neck, the newspaper reported.

In May, Dueñas Aguilar's family and a Hispanic advocacy group offered a $55,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction for her murder.

*According to documents obtained by Clarksville Now, Salinas-Cruz and Rodas had been married, not just to each other, but to two Fort Campbell soldiers.
On May 22, 2020, Salinas-Cruz, of Mexico, married “Sophia” Rodas of El Salvador, with her first name spelled differently on that document. They would remain married for 2 1/2 years before divorcing.
Over two years later, on Dec. 16, 2022, a Fort Campbell soldier, Staff Sgt. Jeffrey Scott Thompson, married Rodas. They spent the next 10 months together as husband and wife, however, on Oct. 29, 2023, Thompson suddenly died. According to posts on Facebook, he died by suicide. When Clarksville Now reached out to the Clarksville Police Department to request Thompson’s cause of death, the request was denied on the grounds that it is part of an open criminal investigation.
On Oct. 6, 2023, Salinas-Cruz married Aguilar. Salinas-Cruz was married to Aguilar for seven months before her murder."

Sorry to snip but I was shocked it was 4 days away from the Anniversary date of when the murderers married 4 years ago when they murdered her . Wonder if they are are hung up on before 5/22 to get the crime done.

Wow, what a scheme and a scam. I sure hope that the Thompson "suicide" is now re-opened, but it may be too late to get much evidence.
Kentucky has all but eliminated capital punishment, but I wonder if a federal option might be possible here.

The crimes happened in Clarksville Tennessee, but they also occurred to military members and maybe they committed crimes within the military base. So perhaps, there's hope?!
