Human remains were found yesterday in a wooded area near Bon Air which looks like about 4 miles or so from where Mr. Whited went missing. It’s reported he was last seen on Lovejoy Rd. The remains were confirmed to be human and were sent to the ME for further analysis.

There is another male John Spivey, also missing from the same county in 2019. It is not known at this time who the remains belong to.

Sheriff Steve Page told WSMV that a group of people were picking up trash along Highway 70 on Bon Air Mountain Sunday afternoon when they discovered human remains in a wooded area near the roadway.

“Due to the nature of the discovery, a large police presence was necessary as investigators conducted a thorough grid search of the surrounding area to locate any additional evidence,” the sheriff’s office said in a post on Facebook.

Page said the remains appear to have been there for a while, but was not able to share a specific timeframe as to how long.
