Roy Whited was last seen on May 3rd near Lovejoy Road in Sparta, wearing a beige shirt and cowboy boots.

Sheriff Page is holding a community search for Roy Whited on Tuesday, May 21st beginning at 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Anyone wanting to assist the Sheriff and the White Co Sheriff's search team with the search needs to be at the command post on Love Joy Road (toward the end of the road) by 8:00 a.m. on the posted date. Roy Whited is a big name in Sparta, Tennessee. A man who almost everyone knew.

The pulpit pastor at DeRossett Church of Christ, a local realtor and flamboyant auctioneer. He was also a state champion basketball coach at White County High School in the late 90’s.

A Ring doorbell catches Roy pulling into his White County driveway on Friday, May 3. Later that day, he is seen walking down his street Lovejoy Road. Two days later, he didn't show up for Sunday service. Neighbor Doug Watts goes into the house. Everything is undisturbed and his phone is sitting in the charger.

So all you have is that gap: seen at 4:30 on Lovejoy Road but no other sightings.

“It’s just tormenting; that’s all I think about anymore,” Roy Whited’s younger brother, Harold Lynn Whited, said. “What could’ve happened? How did it happen? Where did he go?”

For months, Harold has searched for his younger brother Roy. He’s followed up on all tips and passed out more than 100 yard signs across four counties. He’s even offering a reward for information. However, since his disappearance in May, the leads have gone dry.

“Everybody is still looking everywhere they can possibly look to try to find out what happened,” White County Sheriff Steve Page said. “And so far, nothing has really [come] up.”

No one has seen or spoken with Roy Louis Whited since noon on Friday, May 3rd 2024. A search of the residence and property, lead to the discovery that Whited's vehicle, clothing, cell phone, etc. were all present. Subsequent searches of Whited's phone, computer, bank accounts, social media accounts, did not reveal any activity since the date Whited was last seen. A neighborhood canvas as well as aerial and foot searches have been conducted of the property surrounding Whited's residence since his disappearance, but unfortunately none of which have yield any results.
