KPD detectives are attempting to find missing Tommy “Eddie” Hundley, 54.

Hundley was reported missing on Sunday. He was reportedly last seen at a home on Elizabeth Street, while his truck was found apparently abandoned in the area of Mimosa Avenue and Carmichael Street.

Knoxville police: Missing man found dead, person of interest charged

A man is in custody after Knoxville Police Department officers began looking into the death of a man who went missing on Feb. 22.

“Following a lengthy investigation that included dozens of interviews, Hundley’s body was found on Thursday afternoon on Burnett Creek Road in South Knox County,” KPD Communications Manager Scott Erland said. “There were no obvious signs of trauma, but cause of death is unknown at this time and pending the findings of an autopsy that is being conducted by Regional Forensic Center staff.”

Richard Long, a 61-year-old from Knoxville, was charged in connection to the case. Thursday, he was detained for tampering with evidence and abuse of a corpse, according to KPD.
