From the time he opened his first store in Pasadena, California, in 1967 until his death, Coulombe watched his namesake business rise to a retail giant.

DH and I first learned about Trader Joe's while visiting southern California. Trader Joe's eventually opened a handful of stores in metro Detroit, but none are really convenient for weekly shopping. If we happen to be in the vicinity of one of the closest stores, we'll stop in and pick up a few things. I do enjoy reading the Fearless Flyer that comes in the mail several times annually.
