*Charged (1/7/20) with conspiracy to commit murder. Plead not guilty. $2M bond. Bond reduced (1/8/20) to $1.5M & bonded out (on 1/9/20). Off GPS 4/6/23.
*Charged (8/28/20) with 2nd degree hindering prosecution, tampering with physical evidence & conspiracy to commit tampering with physical evidence. No plea entered yet. $500K bond. Posted bond. Off GPS 4/6/23.
The declaration of death for Jennifer was3 officially issued by Judge William P. Osterndorf on October 24, 2023.
Jury Selection began on 10/4/23 & ended 10/26/23. Started off with 6 jurors & 4 alternates. (6 men & 4 women). As of 1/4/24 2 more jurors were excused. 1/4/24: 6 jurors & 2 alternates. (4 men & 4 women). 1/10/24: 6 jurors & 5 alternates.

*Trial set to begin (@ 10:30am PT) – AZ – Isabel Mercedes Celis (6) (missing from home April 21, 2012, Tucson, found in a desert area in Marana, located off of Avra Valley & Trico roads on Mar. 3, 2017, Id’ed Mar. 31, 2017) – *Christopher Matthew Clements (30 @ time of 1st crime/36/now 42) aka Damion James Johnson indicted (9/15/18) & arraigned & charged (9/24/18) with 1 count of 1st degree murder, 1 count of kidnapping a minor under 15 & 14 counts of sexual exploitation of minors. Plead not guilty. $2M cash only bond. DA will not seek DP.
Murder trial for Isabel began on with jury selection on 2/9/23 & a jury was selected. Jury: 9 men & 6 women. Only 12 will actively participate in the trial (other 3 will be alternates).

Trial began on Tuesday, 2/14/23 thru 3/3/23. Jury deliberations for a total: ~7 hours. Jury could not come up with a verdict & Judge James Marner declares a mistrial. 11 voted for conviction, one for acquittal.

7/10/23 Update: Next motions hearing on 7/31/23 @ 1:30pm. Next trial set to begin on 2/6/24.
*Maribel Victoria Gonzales (13) - Trial started 9/13/22 & ended 9/30/22 with a guilty verdict. Sentenced on 11/14/22 to natural life in prison & 17 years for kidnapping. The kidnapping sentence will be served consecutively with the sentence of natural life.
Trial for Fraud began on 1/30/23 & ended 2/2/23 with a guilty verdict. Sentencing hearing on 1/31/24. No update 2/3/24


Wednesday, Feb. 7th:
*Trial set to begin with Jury Selection (?) (@ 9am PT) – CA – Blaze Bernstein (19) (Jan. 2, 2018, Lake Forest; found Jan. 9, 2018; he was stabbed 19 times in his neck; 14 times on the left, 5 on the right & 1 stab wound in his left knee) – *Samuel Lincoln Woodward (20/now 25) arrested & charged (1/17/18) & arraigned (11/9/18) with 1 count of felony murder with a hate crime enhancement for killing someone because of their sexual orientation & sentencing enhancement-personal use of a knife. Plead not guilty (again on 11/9/18). $5M bail, bail revoked (11/9/18). In custody of the Theo Lacy jail.
Trial was set to begin on 7/15/22 with jury selection was vacated for competency evaluation. Found competent (10/21/22) to stand trial.

2/9/24 Update: A Minnesota man charged in the stabbing death of Julie Hanson a 15-year-old suburban Chicago girl more than half a century ago has died, authorities said. Barry Lee Whelpley, 79, was found unresponsive early Friday in his cell at the Will County Jail in Joliet. He was transported to a Joliet hospital where he was pronounced dead, Deputy Chief Dan Jungles of the Will County Sheriff’s Office said. Authorities do not suspect foul play, the Arlington Heights Daily Herald reported. An autopsy was scheduled for Saturday.

He’s claiming it wasn't fair, citing the admission of irrelevant documents & hearsay, improper testimony from state experts & prejudicial evidence including videos he says were not relevant to his investigation.
*JoAnn D. Cunningham (35/38 when sentenced/now 40) – 12/5/19: Plead guilty. Sentenced on 7/17/20 to 35 years in prison. Post conviction petition hearing on 6/1/22. Post conviction petition denied/dismissed.

Perry (6) was last seen in Skokie with his 16-year-old sister at her friend's home around 3 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2022, reported missing Jan. 5, 2022, Chicago & found deceased late Friday night Jan. 7, 2022 near an abandoned house in the 700 block of Van Buren St. in Gary; in truth Damari died on Dec. 30, 2021 during a punishment from his “mom”; killed on his 6th birthday. - *Jeremiah R. Newth was tasked with analyzing the infotainment systems from Fotis Dulos’ Ford Raptor & Jennifer Dulos’ Chevrolet Suburban, which was found abandoned on Lapham Road in New Canaan on May 24, 2019.
Michael Clark, Fairfield Police Dept. detective, Cyber investigations, digital technology & digital forensic examiner. He was tasked with analyzing data from two of Fotis Dulos’ cellphones in May 2019.

*Trial set to begin (@ 9am CET) – Germany/Portugal - Hazel Behan (20 @ time/now 40) (in her home, June 16, 2004, Praia de Rocha on the Algarve coast, 10 miles from Praia de Luz, Portimao, Portugal) - *Christian Stefan Brückner (Bruekner) (27 @ time of 1st crime (2004)/45/now 47) charged (Oct. 11, 2022) with sexual assault (suspect held a knife & brutally raped her. The accused then tied & gagged the woman to a table & raped her again. He then whipped the victim on the back with a whip he had brought with him & finally forcibly performed oral sex with the victim. The accused filmed large parts of the events with a video camera he had brought with him). Braunschweig Regional District Court
Germany/Portugal – *Charged (Oct. 11, 2022) & arrest warrant reinstated 11/18/22 - a 14 year old teenager (assaulted/hit the naked girl with a whip. Said to have brutally forced the girl to have oral sex. The accused also videotaped this act). Took place between Dec. 28, 2000 to April 8, 2006 on the Praia da Luz, Algarve coast, Portugal.
Germany/Portugal - *Charged (Oct. 11, 2022) & arrest warrant reinstated 11/18/22 - an elderly woman 70-80 yrs old (tied up & raped the victim in her holiday apt. He then hit the victim several times with a whip. The accused is said to have recorded the entire event with a video camera). Took place around the same time (between Dec. 28, 2000 to April 8, 2006) on the Praia de Luz, Algarve coast, Portugal.
Germany/Portugal – *Charged (Oct. 11, 2022) & arrest warrant reinstated 11/18/22 - 10 year old German girl (Joana.E) (wearing only shoes & otherwise naked. He grabbed the child's wrist & began to perform masturbation movements on his naked penis). On Salema (Zalema) beach, near Praia de Luz, Portugal, April 7, 2007).
Germany/Portugal – *Charged (Oct. 11, 2022) & arrest warrant reinstated 11/18/22 - 11 year old Portuguese girl (pulled down his trousers & underpants & made masturbation movements on his naked penis in order to sexually arouse himself, until the frightened girl ran to her father for help. The suspect was arrested on the spot by the Portuguese police). Exposed himself in playpark, São Bartolomeu de Messines, June 11, 2017).
Trial set to begin on February 16, 2024. Expected to last up to 3 months.
Brueckner is currently serving a 7 year sentence for the 2005 rape on a pensioner. While he is still the main suspect in Madeleine case, these above cases will be tried first & he will be charged with Madeleine later (maybe!)
Oct. 11, 2022 Update: Specifically, the accused is charged with three acts of serious rape & two acts of sexual abuse of children, specifically:
1. On June 16, 2004 at around 3:00am, the accused in Praia da Rocha in Portugal is said to have gained access to the apartment of a then 20-year-old woman (Behan) from Ireland via the balcony. The sleeping woman was then awakened by the masked suspect holding a knife & brutally raped. The accused then tied & gagged the woman to a table & raped her again. He then whipped the victim on the back with a whip he had brought with him & finally forcibly performed oral sex with the victim. The accused filmed large parts of the events with a video camera he had brought with him. While the accused later fled over the balcony, the victim managed to free herself & crying to ask for help.
2. On another day between December 28, 2000 & April 8, 2006, which can no longer be precisely determined, the accused allegedly assaulted an unknown, German-speaking girl aged at least 14 naked in the house he lived in in Praia da Luz in Portugal tied to a wooden pole in the living room. First he hit the naked girl with a whip. The accused is said to have brutally forced the girl to have oral sex. The accused also videotaped this act.
3. At a point in time that cannot be determined more precisely between December 28, 2000 & April 8, 2006, surprising an unknown 70-80 year old woman in her bedroom in her holiday apartment in Portugal. Then the masked suspect is said to have tied up & raped the victim. He then hit the victim several times with a whip. The accused is said to have recorded the entire event with a video camera.
4. On April 7, 2007 at around 3:30pm, the accused is said to have ambushed a 10-year-old German girl who was playing on the rocks behind a hole on a section of beach in Salema in the district of Faro in Portugal, wearing only shoes & otherwise naked. He grabbed the child's wrist & began to perform masturbation movements on his naked penis. He asked the girl with a grin to look at his naked genitals & the masturbation movements he was making in order to sexually arouse himself. After the accused had ejaculated, he let go of the girl & fled.
5. On June 11, 2017, in the early hours of the morning at around 2am during the so-called snail festival on a playground in Bartolomeu de Messines in Portugal, the accused made eye contact with an 11-year-old Portuguese girl who was on the swings of the playground there have sat. Nov. 29, 2023 Update: Brueckner will be put on the stand from Feb. 16, 2024 in a case set to last for "up to three months". Brueckner is accused of five separate sex crimes, three of which involve minors. "It's set to begin on February 16, a Friday & a half day, but there should be enough time to hear all the charges," prosecutor Hans Christian Wolters said. The first witnesses will be brought in the following week. "There will be four to five judges, two of them lay judges, normal people who are brought in for such cases." German prosecutor Hans Christian Wolters said: 'We expect Hazel to be giving her evidence for a couple of days & then it will be the turn of the other victims & witnesses. A last minute legal bid was launched by Brueckner's team earlier this month in an attempt to get one of the key witnesses in the case thrown out. 2/16/24 Update: Trump, his eldest sons & associates have been ordered to pay $355M plus by a New York Judge Arthur Engoron who found them guilty of intentionally committing financial fraud over the course of a decade. Judge Engoron’s decision deals a devastating blow for the former president who had built his reputation as a successful real estate developer. Engoron barred Trump & two other executives from serving as officers or directors of any New York corporation or entity in New York for three years. His sons, Eric & Donald Trump jr, were banned for two years. In his decision Engoron said the defendants’ “fact & expert witnesses simply denied reality, and defendants failed to accept responsibility or to impose internal controls to prevent future recurrences.” Trump has denied all wrongdoing & will likely appeal the decision. Eric & Donald, Jr. ordered to pay $4M & Weisselberg to pay $1M & permanent ban in the State of New York. 2/16/24 Friday, Trial Day 4: J District Attorney Kyle Cabelka & defense attorney David Autry gave closing arguments. Jury went to deliberations. It took the jury around two hours Friday to find Lilly guilty of felony counts of first-degree manslaughter & child abuse in Comanche County District Judge Jay Walker’s courtroom. The jury recommended he serve five years in prison for the manslaughter count & another 13 years for a charge of child abuse. Following a pre-sentence investigation, Lilly will be formally sentenced at 9 am on 4/12/24.

1/4/24 Update: Haspil is set to argue at trial that he was "emotionally disturbed" in the weeks surrounding the grisly slaying, it was revealed in court Thursday. If Haspil could convince a jury he was emotionally disturbed — a tall order given a trove of video and forensic evidence pointing toward weeks of premeditation — he'd face far less prison time. A successful defense of extreme emotional disturbance would reduce the top charge to first-degree manslaughter, which carries a sentence of anywhere from five to 25 years. A trial date has not yet been set. But in a hearing Thursday, the lead Manhattan prosecutor, Linda Ford, offered a progress report, saying experts from her office had completed two psychological examinations of Haspil in preparation for fighting his emotional-disturbance defense. Haspil remains held without bail and is due back in court on 2/26/24 foe trial to begin.

Plead not guilty by reason of insanity. Held without bond.
Anya had a history of mental health problems & was institutionalized in 2014 & 2016 for erratic behavior. Johnston’s early years in a Russian orphanage, where she’d been adopted. Johnston is currently hospitalized at Mount Sinai St. Luke’s undergoing psychiatric evaluation.
Trial began on 1/22/24 with jury selection & ended on 1/25/24. Opening statements & trial began on 1/26/24.

If the jury returns a “not responsible” verdict, Johnston would proceed to court hearings to assess her dangerousness & determine appropriate confinement to a NY forensic psychiatric center. 2/23/24 Friday Trial Day 27: Judge Kevin Randolph said the contempt hearing for Troconis will be scheduled for 3/5/24 @ 10am. Judge Alex V. Hernandez will preside over the hearing, as Randolph is recusing himself from the hearing. Troconis will have a different lawyer for the hearing.
Randolph also went over scheduling for the rest of the trial. On Monday, 2/26/24 there will be a charge conference where the judge & counsel will review instructions given to the jury. Tuesday, 2/27/24 will be closing arguments, Randolph said.
Schoenhorn also tried get the conclusion of a sealed custody report from the Duloses’ divorce proceedings unsealed on Friday, however the state objected and the judge sustained the objection.
Defense witnesses: Dr. Viorica Marian, a professor of communication sciences & disorders from Northwestern University who focuses on multilingualism & the relationship between language & memory. Clara Duperron, also known as “Petu,” she met Troconis in 2017 through a mutual friend. Troconis will not testify.

12/6/23 Wednesday, Trial Day 6: A mistrial has been declared in the trial of Williams. Judge Tom Maran said a case of "juror misconduct" was to blame. Visibly irate, Judge Moran chastened the jury for its conduct, without identifying specifics other than some members may have spoken of the case. DA Sandra Doorley declined to say specifically what was the misconduct, except to say that it arose from more than one juror. "It's not just one juror," she said. "It was a jury issue that could not be cured." Williams' defense lawyers requested the mistrial after learning of the issue. New trial date is 2/27/24 with jury selection.

2/23/24 Friday, Trial Day 10: Clements will not testify. Defense rested their case. No rebuttal from State. The judge in the case handles other business on Mondays, so the trial resumes Tuesday with closing arguments. Then it’s all up to the jury.

Tuesday, Feb. 27th:
*Trial set to begin-CONTINUED! (@ 9am CT) – TX – Scarlette Olivia Newsom (2) (Oct. 17, 2018, Dean; taken off life support after 5 days) – *Joshua Thomas Fulbright (23/now 28) “BF” arrested & charged (10/17/18), indicted (12/18/18) & arraigned (1/22/19) with 1st degree felony count of injury to a child resulting in serious bodily injury. Indicted & charged (1/13/22) on 1st degree murder all other charges are dismissed. $250K bond. Bond reduced (12/23/19) to $50K. Out on bond on 12/23/19. Posted $50K bond (1/13/22) with GPS monitor & having no contact with Newsom.
Jury trial was set begin on 12/6/19 with jury selection, but were unable to find 12 jurors. Trial was set to begin on 3/25/20-cancelled due to COVID is continued on 8/22/22 for Jury selection. Will be tried in Montague County.
Trial was set to begin on 2/27/24 with jury selection was continued on 5/7/24.

(Day 3) (@ 10:30am PT) – AZ – Isabel Mercedes Celis (6) (missing from home April 21, 2012, Tucson, found in a desert area in Marana, located off of Avra Valley & Trico roads on Mar. 3, 2017, Id’ed Mar. 31, 2017) – *Christopher Matthew Clements (30 @ time of 1st crime/36/now 42) aka Damion James Johnson indicted (9/15/18) & arraigned & charged (9/24/18) with 1 count of 1st degree murder, 1 count of kidnapping a minor under 15 & 14 counts of sexual exploitation of minors. Plead not guilty. $2M cash only bond. DA will not seek DP.
Murder trial for Isabel began on with jury selection on 2/9/23 & a jury was selected. Jury: 9 men & 6 women. Only 12 will actively participate in the trial (other 3 will be alternates). Pima County Superior Court Judge James Marner presiding.

2/29/24 Thursday, Trial Day 13/Verdict Watch Day 3: Jury continued deliberations & after approximately 2 hours - The Pima County Superior Court jury found Clements guilty on charges of 1st degree murder, kidnapping & second-degree burglary for the killing of Isabel.
Sentencing hearing on 3/5/24.

*Maribel Victoria Gonzales (13) - Trial started 9/13/22 & ended 9/30/22 with a guilty verdict. Sentenced on 11/14/22 to natural life in prison & 17 years for kidnapping. The kidnapping sentence will be served consecutively with the sentence of natural life.
Trial for Fraud began on 1/30/23 & ended 2/2/23 with a guilty verdict. Sentencing hearing on 3/27/24.
