Here is a rather interestig read. It's a blog in the Washington post about violence towards women in Turkey. It points out that the last weekend alone 4 Turkish women were murdered but there story is not covered in the media like Sarai's is.

Similar things happen here in the states too. I remember a while back 2 British tourists were murdered in Florida. It was tragic, but certain locals were lamenting the press coverage, saying local people are robbed, shot, raped and killed there all the time, and it doesn't warrant even a story in the press, let alone non-stop coverage. I'm sure the tourist element adds a bit of intrigue to MSM. Personally, I'm disgusted that any human anywhere can violently lose their life at the hands of another, and isn't guaranteed any attention whatsoever.
