2 deputies shot in Yuba County; gunman at large

Church leader Heidi Leff said members called her to report that a new worker in the marijuana field was erratic, armed with a gun and pulling up the plants. She told the workers to flee and then called the sheriff's department.


When deputies arrived, they found the man on the long driveway leading up to the church. He then ran and the deputies chased after him. The man ran into a nearby home and began shooting at the deputies, Yuba County Under Sheriff Ron Johnson.
