The mother of the 12-year-old Texas boy who allegedly stabbed a woman at her house after putting on surgical gloves apologized to the victim Sunday as police revealed the preteen has been charged over the violent encounter.

A neighbor from next door is then seen telling the boys to leave. But about 10 minutes later, the footage shows the boys returning on their bikes with gloves on their hands. The 12-year-old then takes something out of his pants, charges at the woman inside the garage, and then runs away with the 7-year-old boy.

"Never did any of us think that it was going to be kids from the neighborhood that came in and attacked her," the neighbor, who asked not to be identified, said. "If they have the ability to go and do that to an older woman who clearly has mental issues after our neighbor down the road tells them, 'Hey, leave her alone.' It's a concern."

“I’m sorry to the family. I’m very sorry that my son committed the incident,” the mother told KPRC. “And I’m praying for your health, for your wellness.”

“My son, he struggles with mental problems,” she also said.

So according to neighbors, the victim was "challenging" to deal with because she may have mental health issues. Now mom of 12 year old says he has mental health struggles. Sounds like a perfect torm.

This story popped up under my similar threads.
A neighbor reported they often had to call the cops on the victim.
I do hope she was eventually given proper care or went into the care of someone who could help keep her safe.
I also wonder about the outcome for the 12 year old. Any consequence he received likely included mental health services.
