TX - 7-Year-Old Student Found Hanging On Coat Hook

  • #21
It sounds like they found the child in a bathroom off of a gym locker room. My guess would be homicide is in there since the hook is too high up for a child to hang himself on without using something to stand on to get up there. If they found nothing used around that area, someone put him up there.

this was my suspicion from the get-go...perhaps bullying was what led him to the first attempt. This would all make perfect sense....and some other parent's child who is responsible will have their parent say, "oops accident, boys will be boys..." I am hearing vague echoes of Megan Meier in my head...sorry.

You're saying that you want to die at times? Are you under a doctor's care?

WOw I just read that back to myself and it was just worded wrong, No I do not want to die. I used to because of how my life was and all of the things that happened to me but I am a very happy person with 3 beautiful kids to live for. Anyways what I meant to say was I still think back at my life and its sad but I dont want to kill myself over it or die. Sorry for the confusion.

I just think that some people have faulty wiring from birth that gives them the motivation to try to off themselves, child or not.

I agree. We can all find plenty of reasons once we get here why we should leave ASAP. Some people find those reasons earlier than others and some people, I believe, come in with wiring that says suicide is a viable valid desirable option.

My prayers to this child and this family.

Is there any way we can find out how this poor boy attempted to kill himself the first time? Was it similiar to this instance mentioned, or a different way. It's so hard to believe such a young child would even attempt suicide. I could see they would have thoughts of it, yet to seriously attempt it is a whole different matter.

Also, i recall seeing somewhere either a cartoon or something on tv at some point over the decades where a person or animation would be hanging from a coat hook. If other children had done this to him as a prank, would they be able to comprehend the seriousness that could happen?
Also was he wearing a collared shirt? I would think the collar on the shirt would have to be punctured by the coat hook and the shirt strong enough not to rip.

This is a common "comic" bit, I think, and I believe that he was hung by the back of his coat or shirt, perhaps even with the knowlege of the teacher nearby. I think it went very wrong....and I also believe we will find "bullying" at the bottom of it.

If the little boy was placed by CPS with the grandparents, I imagine they got the child into couseling and evaluated for medication since they hopefully knew about a previous suicide attempt. Maybe the boy is bipolar and also had to deal with neglect or other abuse. Hope he makes it with no brain damage.

Everyone, the original two links posted are for two different cases. The 7 year old in Texas that is being discussed in this thread has no prior suicide attempt and was not in foster care. This was cleared up in two prior posts today.

Awwwww that makes me ill. I am so sorry for him.

What? Two different stories? Now, I am confused.

The 7 year old in Texas didn't have a twin brother. The 10 year old in Philly did. There are two different stories getting confused here. Both are tragic though, IMO. Extremely tragic. The 10 year old in Philly...omg, what would drive a 10 year old to that! He needs his own thread!

ETA: I want to know what repercussions are coming because a 10 year old commints suicide. That's unacceptable.

Sorry to be O/T here. Maybe it's the vodka talking, heh heh. Seriously though, the posts remeniscing about wanting to die...well they got to me. I had a bad childhood as well. I never felt that way. I've always told myself someone out there has it worse. Unfortunately I'm right. The fact that you made it past that thought is proof as to how strong you are. God Bless.

God bless everyone here that does what they do. Seriously (I've been using that catch phraise way too often lately) How many people do you know that play a morbid game of match the dead person with the missing etc.? I mean really!!! We all do it, we scan the online photos of the dead hoping to find an identity, a match, closure or something. And we still do it. It's because of our backgrounds IMO, we were one step away from being a story at Websleuths. What a tight circle that is.

I was finally able to edit my initial comment with a note that these are 2 separate boys. Sorry for the mixup.

OK-sorry for continuing the confusion by commenting about the cases as one. RIP little man...
