College Station Police Department looking for missing toddler, local Amber Alert issued (kbtx.com)
Adeline Paige Welch, 3, was last seen on March 3 around 10:30 p.m., in the 1800 block of Treehouse Trail. She was wearing pink jeans and a white shirt.

• Her mother, Maranda Nicole Nichols, 30, was last seen with Adeline Wed night.
• They are believed to be in a 2006 Toyota Highlander, white in color, with Texas LP MWS8187 with a “Princess on Board” sticker on the back window.
• College Station police say their last possible known location was in the Dallas Fort Worth area early Thursday morning.
• Nichols does not have full legal custody of Adeline.
• Adeline suffers from medical conditions that place her in immediate danger of death or serious bodily injury. LE found the life sustaining medical equipment and medication she requires at the home in the 1500 block of Holleman.
• Adeline is 3′ and 26 lbs.
• Nichols is 5′ 110 lbs, w/ green eyes and is bald or wearing an unknown color wig.

On March 4, around 8:04 A.M., the College Station Police Department responded to the 1500 blk of Holleman regarding a missing person investigation.

Initial investigation revealed that the suspect, Maranda Nicole Nichols (30 year old female), was last seen on the previous date in the 1800 blk of Treehouse Trail in College Station at approximately 10:30 P.M. with 3-year-old Adeline Paige Welch, the missing person.

An Amber Alert has been issued for a missing Texas toddler.

Adeline Paige Welch, 3, was last seen on March 3 around 10:30 p.m., in the 1800 block of Treehouse Trail. She was wearing pink jeans and a white shirt.

College Station police say the child’s mother, Maranda Nicole Nichols, 30, was last seen with Adeline Wednesday night. They are believed to be in a 2006 Toyota Highlander, white in color, with Texas LP MWS8187 with a “Princess on Board” sticker on the back window.

College Station police say their last possible known location was in the Dallas Fort Worth area early Thursday morning.

Nichols does not have full legal custody of Adeline. The toddler suffers from medical conditions that place her in immediate danger of death or serious bodily injury. Police found the life sustaining medical equipment and medication she requires at the residence in the 1500 block of Holleman.

Adeline is 3′ and 26 lbs.

Nichols is 5′ 110 lbs, has green eyes and is bald or wearing an unknown color wig.

Oh, this is scary and time is of the essence for this child to be found, IMO. Some health condition which necessitates medication or treatment -- heart, lungs, brain, kidneys,etc. -- possibly cystic fibrosis which requires daily treatment by medication and sometimes pounding on the child's back to loosen thick mucus, etc. Epilepsy might result in serious bodily injury. And the medical equipment is not with them.
Again, scary.

If anyone has seen Adeline or knows her location you are asked to call the Amarillo Police Immediately at 806-378-3038. Maranda has ties to Amarillo and could have brought Adeline to our city.
Adeline has been entered into the NCMEC system and an amber alert has been issued.

I wish LE would give the public some information on Adeline's medical needs. Hopefully at the very least pharmacists, doctors and medical clinics/hospitals have been informed just in case her mother attempts to purchase medication or equipment.

Any news on why her mother took off with her? What exactly does it mean that she doesn't have "full legal custody?" Does she have partial custody? Supervised visits? Does she (mother) have any mental health issues?

Poor little angel. I hope Adeline's mother is caring for her properly and making sure she's not cold, hungry or scared.

Sources tell KBTX that Maranda Nichols, 30, and Adeline Welch, 3, were found after the two made a stop in or near Weatherford, Oklahoma, and tried to use a credit card that was declined. The small town is located along I-40 west of Oklahoma City. Authorities believe Nichols may have been heading to Amarillo.

College Station police say the child is now being evaluated by medical staff.

The two went missing sometime Thursday from College Station in an SUV that became the focus of an Amber Alert.
