RICHARDSON, Texas — A mother is desperately searching for her son, Andrew Li, who has been missing for several days.

Li is a University of Texas at Dallas sophomore, living in on-campus housing. He is a 20-year-old Asian male and often seen in a ball cap with rounded brown wire-framed glasses.

Li was last seen at his apartment on Saturday around 6 p.m. The UT-Dallas police said there are no signs of foul play. They are investigating to see what happened and working with other agencies too.

Ai Ping Zhou, Li's mother, last spoke with Li on Thursday. She said the conversation was brief because he was in the library studying for exams.

When Zhou texted Li on Saturday, the message was left unread. She tried calling him too, and he did not answer.

"I'm so, so worried," Zhou told WFAA

It seems like the first thing to do, is for campus police investigators to look at his academic record, and see if he was regularly going to class and passing his coursework. Hopefully he'll be found soon.

UT-Dallas is not a small university. It is a large public university in Richardson with nearly 31,000 students. You may be confusing it with the smaller private Catholic UTD campus. I'm praying he's found!

It doesn’t have T for Texas anywhere in its name or initials.
UTD (The University of Texas Dallas) is the large public school in Richardson, Texas (just north of Dallas) under the University of Texas (Austin) umbrella.

Yes, that is right. I go to UTD and when I tell people that they sometimes confuse it with the Catholic school. There are flyers all over campus right now for him.

UT Dallas is completely different that University of Dallas. UT Dallas, where he attended, has an enrollment of 30k+, with about 70% of those being undergrads. University of Dallas is in Irving with the details quoted above.

The body of a University of Texas at Dallas student who was reported missing in late February was found Saturday under DART rail tracks, according to police.

Shortly after 7:30 a.m., Richardson officers located a man’s body under the tracks in the 3200 block of Routh Creek Parkway, near CityLine Park, police said.

Li’s official cause of death is pending toxicology results, police said.

“We all grieve with Andrew’s family and friends at this sorrowful outcome,” UTD police said in a post on social media. “We offer our sincere condolences to all who knew him.”
