LAREDO, Texas (KWTX) An Amber Alert was issued Friday night for a teenage girl from Laredo.
The Laredo Police Department is searching for Ashley Fernandez, 16.

They believe she could be in grave or immediate danger.
Police are also looking for Arturo Medrano-Limas, 19, in connection with her abduction.
The suspect is driving a gray, 2005, Ford Focus ZX4 with a Texas license plate number of 38L0034.

Amber Alert: Pregnant Texas 16-year-old was kidnapped by boyfriend, police say

The girl's mother told police that her daughter's boyfriend, 19-year-old Arturo Medrano-Limas, showed up at their home just before 3 p.m. and demanded that Ashley come outside. Witnesses reported seeing Medrano-Limas pull the 16-year-old into his car while relatives tried to pull her away from him.

Ashley is described as a Hispanic girl who is 4-11 and 110 pounds, with blond hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing an olive green shirt, orange shorts, sandals and brown glasses. Police say she is four months pregnant.

Medrano-Limas is described as a Hispanic man who is 5-6 and 140 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. He was driving a gray 2005 Ford Focus ZX4 with Texas license plate 38L 0034.

An Amber Alert was issued late Friday after a pregnant teen was kidnapped by her boyfriend in central Laredo, police said.

At about 3 p.m. Friday, a woman called LPD saying that her 16-year-old daughter, Ashley Fernandez, had been kidnapped by her boyfriend in the 3200 block of Springfield Avenue. Fernandez is four months pregnant, police said.
LPD identified the boyfriend as 19-year-old Arturo Medrano Limas.
Police said Limas had been calling Fernandez throughout the day. He then went to her home on Springfield and demanded her to come out of the residence, LPD said.
She met with Limas outside the house. Witnesses state that Limas then tried to pull her into the car as Fernandez's family fought to pull her away from him, LPD said.
Fernandez was eventually pulled into the car and Limas drove away with her. Police said he was driving a gray Ford Focus. The license plate number is 38L0034.
The Webb County Attorney's Office has approved a warrant for Limas' arrest.

The suspect, Arturo Medrano Limas, 19, was arrested about two hours after she was found. He was wanted by the Laredo Police Department on a kidnapping charge.

Investigator Joe Baeza, Laredo Police Department spokesman, said detectives were able to speak to Limas on the phone and convinced him to release the girl, Ashley Fernandez, who is four months pregnant.

Around noon Saturday, Fernandez was dropped off at an LPD substation by a third party.

Shortly thereafter, police arrested Limas in the Los Altos colonia off Texas Highway 359.

"Through the investigation detectives ... found him in a residence and arrested him without incident," Baeza said.
