39-year-old Austin Kanuch was stabbed to death at his home off Greenleaf Lake Drive on September 22. No arrests have been made.

Deputies responded to the home off Greenleaf Lake Drive around 4:30 a.m. the next morning. They found Kanuch was stabbed in the neck. It is unclear if anyone made it inside the home, but the sheriff said nothing appeared to be missing.

According to the sheriff, Kanuch’s wife was home at the time of the murder. Last week, the sheriff mentioned investigators were looking for a man who was riding a bike around the time of the murder.

So the family (AK, wife, and three kids) were going to move. The first story linked on this thread seems to say the kids were not at home when the murder occurred, which makes me wonder if they were staying with another parent (an ex of AK or his wife)? His obit states the two older children were his from a first marriage. Wonder if the upcoming move was a source of friction between AK and his former spouse (or, for that matter, his current spouse, or a disgruntled former owner/resident of the recently-purchased home)?

Unsolved murder: Harris County Sheriff's Office renews investigation into fatal stabbing​

Just heard about this case today. Very bizarre. The article states his wife and youngest child were home, glad they were ok, but strange to leave them unharmed in that situation.
