AUSTIN, TEXAS — Police on Wednesday night issued a plea to the public to help locate an elderly woman suffering from dementia reported missing in North Austin.

Barbara Tutt, 68, was reported missing just before 7 p.m. from the 7100 block of Vallecity Drive, according to police. She was last seen wearing a gray zip-up jacket with blue markings on the back, blue jeans and glasses. The missing woman stands at five feet, four inches in height and weighs about 105 pounds, police said. She has blonde, graying hair that is longer than shoulder length, police added.

Law enforcement officials said Tutt, who is known to regularly embark on long walks, left home sometime between 12:15 p.m. and 4 p.m. Police urge anyone who might see her to call 9-1-1 immediately.
