Human skull remains were found Sunday in Cypress Park, according to Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez.

This is a developing scene, but according to the sheriff, the remains were found by someone walking in the park in the 12900 block of N. Eldridge.

Investigators are headed to the scene. We also have a crew en route to gather more details.

The park remains open, the sheriff confirms.

Harris County Sheriff's Office crime scene investigators and forensic anthropologists with the Institute of Forensic Science (IFS) have since collected all the bones that were found in the wooded area, Harris County Senior Deputy Thomas M Gilliland told Newsweek.
