Well this is sorta in the news, but sadly seems to be a footnote. 20 years ago this would have been a big deal. At 6 am police notice a parked car in the middle of the Interstate access road. Shell casings from an AK-47 were at the scene.

We've been having alot of shootings here lately. I don't know if it's the same everywhere else.

Two women dead, one injured in triple shooting near North Star Mall​

Just before 6 a.m., Castle Hills Police responded to the access road of Blanco and Loop 410 after receiving a call for a car parked in the center lane.
Police said they found a woman in the street with a gunshot wound to her head, along with two other gunshot victims in the car. There were also multiple shell casings from a suspected rifle and handgun found at the scene, police said.

All three of the women were taken to the hospital in critical condition but two have died, police say.

The third victim remains in critical condition with a gunshot wound to her head.

Police found around 50 shell casings at the scene and believe a 9 millimeter and an AK-47 was used in the shooting.

Further investigation revealed to authorities that two suspects were involved, though neither have yet been located.

Victims identified as D’Yani Thomas, 19, and Kennedi Braziel, 18; Third woman in hospital​

Video from the scene showed the car riddled with bullet holes on the access road. Police said the victims were the driver and front-seat passenger.

“It’s a senseless act, a very violent act,” said Lt. Tony Crawford with the Castle Hills Police Dept. “We’ve canvassed the area for any businesses that these victims and possible suspect cars have traveled.”

Crawford said there are few leads in the case, and investigators are unsure whether the women were targeted.
