Feels weird that this is all we know so far

I don't know what's typical elsewhere, but this kind of minimal info is not unusual in Texas, IMO.

I haven't come across how this is an AA yet. IMO

This is a troubling AA. IMO

Does an Amber Alert in Texas not require information about a possible abductor? There isn’t even any information about a car he may be (willingly?) travelling in.

Usually, a car is required or at least proof of an abduction. Amber alerts are not typically for runaways, lost people and things like that. It's usually for those where an abduction is suspected and at least a vehicle description is known and usually a license plate so the info can be sent quickly for people to be looking for the car. This does seem odd. I've seen other types of alerts for not abduction type cases where an at-risk youth or adult has wandered off or is missing. IMO

So he is the father of a baby it looks like about 6 months old. He's still a minor and it looks like he might currently have a full head of hair and possibly facial hair, but the AA photo shows him bald with no facial hair. Looking at his FB that is what he looked like maybe a year ago so possibly a driver's license photo. This is his mom and she posted the AA on her page. Reading the comments, but no other info there yet.

Searching FB for his name to find any news or pages that have posted to read comments.

He went to school on the bus and never went to class. From comments it sounds like this is not like him at all and he wouldn't disappear and leave his son. Of course things can be going on in kids' lives that we don't know about and suddenly they do something nobody thinks they would do, but it does sound like this is not consistent with his past behavior and there is no history of running off and no known reason he'd just run off now so maybe they are suspecting something happening to him against his will. That is the only reason I can think of for the AA, but without a car they can't list that description. I wonder if he was having trouble with anyone at school or anyone in the community?
