Surveillance video shows suspects in home invasion that killed father in front of family, police say

Police said the man told his wife to get down for cover before being shot by at least one suspect inside his home. Authorities said the victim's children witnessed the shooting but were unharmed.

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Police are looking for three suspects who allegedly broke into a man's home in southwest Houston and shot him to death in front of his wife and two kids Sunday morning, according to officials.

Officials told KHOU that the children were “small kids.”

Police said there were three intruders, believed to be male, all wearing ski masks, KHOU reported.

Police don’t have a description of the suspects or a suspect vehicle, but “it’s early on in the investigation,” Detective David Higgs told KPRC

if it happened at 2:30 a.m., I find it odd that the young children would have witnessed the event, unless they were sleeping in the same bedroom as their parents?

it seems like it happened very quickly but maybe they heard the commotion and exited their bedroom(s)

either way, I agree that they will be traumatized - I just hope they didn't actually see their Dad being shot

Well.

It will be interesting to watch this case unfold. One person killed. Children witnessed the murder but were left as witnesses. Wife was told to stay down so are we to presume that means she did not see her husband being murdered? As someone else has asked, where were the children? Did they sleep in rooms away from the parents and came out when they heard noise?

I wish we could verify that the husband told the wife to stay hidden. And if the husband was unarmed, was he planning to confront whoever he heard in his house with words and his bare hands?
