TX- Greg Garza, 17-year SAFD Veteran: *killed responding to fire* San Antonio; 15 October 2019

Greg Garza, a 17-year veteran of the San Antonio Fire Department, was responding to a fire this morning at the Comfort Suites hotel on the corner of Live Oak Street and Dawson Street.

According to San Antonio Fire Chief Charles Hood, Greg was getting out of a fire engine when he stumbled out of the truck and was hit by a commercial van.

KSAT 12 reports that Greg was taken to Brook Army Military Medical Center where he later succumbed to his wounds.

Sources at FOX 29 say that the San Antonio Police Department is investigating the crash.
