I am very local and can not believe I have not heard of this. Someone at Westfield High School has to know who this boy is. This is an area where you would have to know the area to find this place I think. Lots of apartment complexes down the road in either direction.

The area around this school has gone downhill for many years.

Assuming, based on the T-shirt, this kid is from Los Angeles I looking at recent missing teenagers from LA. Christopher Garcia Barrera looks like a good possible match. He's 16 years old, 66 in. tall, and weighs 140 lbs. He went missing in mid-January, which is plenty of time for him to have made his way to Houston. In addition, doesn't Christopher's haircut in the righthand photo on the NCMEC poster look similar to the haircut described of the UID? (Of course that is a popular haircut among young people these days, but an interesting observation none-the-less.)

Body found February 01

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas - A man's body was found in a cattle pond Thursday, according to the Harris County Sheriff's Office.

The man was found in the 16500 block of Pentonshire Lane in north Harris County. Homicide and crime scene investigators responded to the scene. Authorities said it appeared that the man was in his 20s.

No signs of injuries were found on the man and his body was not badly decomposed, according to investigators.

His body was found in a small lake on private property.

Investigators with the Harris County Sheriff's Office are at the scene in the 16500 block of Pentonshire. This is near Ella Boulevard.

SkyEye13 was over the pond Thursday evening, where a body could be seen face down in the water.

Deputies are searching the wooded lot around the pond for any evidence.

Investigators said the body is a white or Hispanic male, somewhere around 20 years old.

A neighbor who was walking near the pond Thursday found the body, officials said.

No obvious signs of foul play have been found and at this point, it’s unclear how the man died.

The pond is located behind a neighborhood, on private property.

A bit confused by this LE announcement on their public feeder:

Body Identified As Reported Runaway
News Release

On Tuesday, December 26, 2017, HCSO patrol deputies initiated a report for a 14-year old male that had ran away from home on Sunday, December 24, 2017.

On Thursday, February 1, 2018, the body of a juvenile male was located in a pond in the 16500 block of Pentonshire Lane.

Today, March 03, 2108, the body of the male has been identified by the Institute of Forensic Science.

The cause of death is still pending.

Or two people have been found on the same day on the same street or he indeed is identified but just not taken off Namus yet for some reason?

I can see that address stated on Namus is 16502 Pentonshire Lane but all news articles from that day about this case do state 16500 and also last article about him being identified.

T-shirt with large "7" on the upper left chest and an emblem for Boys and Girls Clubs of Los Angeles Harbor on the front center. Black and white Nike athletic shoes, size Men's 9.

I have seen older drifters wearing what ever clothes they grabbed out of homeless shelter bin. This includes t shirts with strange and at times, humorous logos. The victim, however, is young and far more likely to have at least some what of a "clothes consciousness".

In short, there could be an increased possibility that the victim was actually associated with the Boys and Girls club in question. The club serves over 2,000 children and sponsors atheletic activities (number 7 on shirt). The victim was also wearing athletic shoes which could be related to playing on a sports team. I wonder if they were standard Nike tennis shoes, or shoes more specific for a sport and thus more likely to be picked out by somebody actively playing a sport.

In either case, the Boys and Girls Club of LA Harbor should be contacted.

It seems like his NamUS is down. Maybe he's been identified?

BBM Yes, he was identified.
From iulia's message: On Saturday, the Institute of Forensic Sciences identified the body as Justin Gonzalez, who had been reported missing in December.

Wow, I must have completely skipped by those posts in the thread. Thank you.

Glad that this case has been resolved. Perhaps a mod can move this thread to the Identified forum?
