Now this is just my theory, but what if Jane Doe’s parents/one of her parents was a narcissist? That might explain when the alleged girl was asked if her parents knew where she was she would have said they didn’t care?

Also the boyfriend theory is interesting to me. It’s not unusual tbh. If she was on the older end of the range, say 16-18, she might have had a boyfriend who was 18 when she was 16. So if that boyfriend graduated and was arrested, might it be possible she had a prison beau from her high school?

I was also considering the mention by others of law enforcement not having been open at various times, and it made me wonder if maybe she had been dating an older guy who worked at Ellis in some capacity. This also would fit with her not having been to Ellis in the past. If she was having an affair with an older guy, or a married man (?) she wouldn't normally be hanging out where he worked.

Maybe a wild theory, but she was out alone, almost certainly lying about her age, seeming not to care what her parents thought, so it could explain no one reporting her missing.

According to the insightful article posted upthread, she allegedly got in to a station wagon with three men. (Allegedly). Now that doesn't mean these three men were involved in her murder, but it certainly would point to that possibility. IIRC, our dear WCJD did not have seminal deposit on her remains, but violation with an object had transpired. Further, there was a bite mark. IWT that based on that bite mark, it could quickly be determined whether that was inflicted by a male or female Perp. I do not believe this was a female Perp. The brutality and severity of her injuries point to a male. All amateur opinion and speculation of course.

Texas had 20K backlog of rape kits up until just a few years ago when a reform was enacted.

(a) aggressive, (b) sexual, and (c) sex-aggression diffusion. The aggressive rapists use sex as an expression of their anger to humiliate and defile the victim, who is always a stranger. They tend to have a long history of difficulty in heterosexual relationships, early sexual traumata involving an older woman (frequently the mother), body narcissism, and an absence of depth in their relationships. 3 cases are presented illustrating sexual traumata and their relationship to subsequent rape. The sexual rapists use minimal violence and no brutality in their attacks. They are generally defending against homosexual feelings, attempting to escape the passive-feminine resolution, and denying feelings of impotency. 2 examples of this type of rapist are described. The sadistic rapist is unable to experience sexual excitement without violence. A case is described indicating the paranoia, sexualization of aggression, and violent histories of such men.

The extent of WCJD's injuries, the sheer brutality and overkill, clearly point to the (c)sex-aggression diffusion Perp profile in my amateur opinion.

Her cowardly prison boyfriend (all speculation) never claimed to know her as this would have caused additional complications for him such as dating an underage girl, etc. While cowardly, it is understandable while he remained silent. He was at that prison, and he knew her....I would strongly speculate. He might even still be alive today, although with such a young (?) prison history, it could be doubtful.

I am so glad that people haven't given up on this child, despite the many years.
We need to give her name back, and use her death as a rally cry against violent offenders.
Some countries are finally taking more aggressive actions against rapists, and the U.S. needs to as well. Justice for WCJD.

This is an old FBI report from 1987, but the findings remain the same. This research paper pointed out what is now being validated by the many rape kits being tested from backlog all around the nation. There are many, many more serial rapists out there than originally believed.

I sent an email to detective Mike Cole with Walker County back in August of this year regarding a suspicion I had. Pivoting off of the lady who remembered giving her a ride from Oakwood, Texas a few months before she was found, I began looking into girls homes in North Texas, closer to that location as opposed to the ones along the coast like the one in Galveston that has been mentioned numerous times. Here is what I sent him:

"I have a theory on WCJD. A lady said she had given this girl a ride months before she was found from Oakwood, Texas to Huntsville. Oakwood is not far from Fairfield. There's a children's home called Pleasant Hill in Fairfield. If Jane Doe came from there, she would possibly be in the Fairfield yearbooks for either 1979 or 1980. It's it possible for you to get a list of all children admitted to the facility in those two years (and if any of them ran away) and then look through the yearbooks? If someone is found who resembles her, it would be easy to confirm if they're missing or not."

The reply back from Det. Cole was rather short and tart:

"This is Mike Cole from the Walker County Sheriff Dept. I have not responded because I have not had time to do so. I am currently actively working ( 3 ) unsolved missing persons / homicide cases and preparing for an upcoming trial.

I will respond when I can sit and have the case file in front of me to correctly share information.

I apologize if the timing of not responding has offended you in any way. I appreciate your input and thank you in advance for any assistance.

Perhaps someone else could look into this lead a little more? I don't have Classmates anymore so I can't look through the yearbooks. Also, not sure if the kids at Pleasant Hill would have attended Fairfield Schools or if like some other children's homes, they were taught on site.

I don’t remember even reading about the woman who remembered giving her a ride. It’s definitely a great avenue to investigate. I don’t have classmates any more either.

Actually, I see it as positive he replied at all. I know it can be hard not to take things personally, but read his reply again. I think it was written from someone who IS super busy, but you caught his interest. Otherwise, he would have ignored your theory entirely.

I know I'm not the only one who thinks contacting Robert Ben Rhoades might lead us to the possible answer, it would've been within his first couple of years of murdering. It lines up with time and place, we should shoot our shot before he dies

Unfortunately at the same time, even if we find her murderers, it's not sure that we'll know her name and vice versa. Just look at Ventura County Jane Doe, we know that Wilson Chouest was her murderer, but considering how most of these girls don't have relation to these serial killers, they hardly ever know their name

I totally agree - very cool that he responded! It seemed kind of rude at the beginning but by the end had totally changed in tone. I think that in the first few sentences he didn't mean to come off as haughty, but was simply describing his workload. It sounds like he wants to give careful attention to this when he has time to thoroughly go over the info instead of rushing to haphazardly rule it out.
