Not sure if this has been mentioned before, but I've had a little sort-of-theory for a while now. Is it possible someone in that prison did know her - intimately, even - but denied any knowledge of her existence because she was underage and he wasn't? It's something that's been on my mind ever since I read that article (IIRC by a police officer involved with the case? wish I could find the link again) who said she told the witnesses she was looking for her "boyfriend".

Great - I went back a few pages to see when the last exclusions were listed and I didn't see it. This thread is pretty busy!!

Kristy Booth is a duplicate though - she was already there near the bottom of the list.

It is, and that's good It's also good that names are being added because it reassures us that LE is working on the case.

I wish some type of cold case detectives or shows would pick this case up and breathe some new life into it!! Find living inmates, guards, custodians, food service workers...anyone working or housed at that prison who would have been shown her picture. Even the witness/waitress...if she is deceased, I would like to know what she told her relatives. After all this time, someone needs to jog memories....

Mortem photos dolled them up and added a grin on her face. Kind of bewildered at first..but I’m guessing this was either done to show what she would look like as a prostitute, or to compare them to the Katy photo where she is smiling.

I just did a quick search trying to find this, and somehow stumbled on a hashtag of a person comparing Julie Moseley to the "Kathy" photo shared in this thread.

Has Julie ever been considered for WCJD? I did not see her on the most recent list of rule outs. It seems as though this would have come up already, since she would have been right around the suggested age, has a scar on her forehead, etc.

I don't know much about that. but judging the photos the person created it looks like (to me at least) Walker had a rounder face and and wider jaws and would have had a bigger smile than Kati/Kathy.

She disappeared from Virginia in September of 1980 when she was 17. Her features appear to be delicate.

I was catching up on the last couple pages since I was last here. First, a detective who helped with the case said WCJD had told the waitress she was looking to visit her boyfriend. Second, we found mention in an article that WCJD did have a purse or bag with her and had a milkshake while at the diner. I don’t think the waitress viewed the body. She gave a description and told them what the girl had said. The owner of a gas station where she was first seen also described her to police. The shoes that were found with the body where presumably a clue to it being the same girl. They originally thought she could be as old as 18 but when they exhumed her they said 14-16 and likely at the younger end of the estimation.
Carl has stated that he doesn’t think she is in any missing persons database. She could have been reported but it was lost or not taken seriously.
The waitress and gas station owner are both dead. I looked through a list of current death row inmates and there are a few that were there in 1980.
I haven’t seen a mention of whether or not she could have had a child. It’s possible the extent of her injuries could have hidden the evidence. I don’t know if they would have been able to tell more from the exhumation. I guess it would depend on how well her body was preserved.

She was last seen talking to a man/men in a station wagon. The Hitchin Post was a truck stop but locals hung out there too. It was also Halloween so people were probably having parties. She could have gone with someone to a party to wait until morning when visiting hours started.

This is a good point. It feels as though the fact it was Halloween isn't really mentioned very often, both in terms of her possibly heading to. party, and also in terms of her killer maybe being motivated in part to some weird connection to the date. The first time I heard the details/date, I wondered?

Going to assume Jackie Boyer was ruled out long ago too? She shared some similarities, and is not on the list above, but since everyone keeps saying WCJD is probably not in any database....
